About Vadim Leviev, Full-Stack Developer and Consultant

Vadim Leviev - full-stack developer and technology consultant based in Tel Aviv, with 25+ years of building systems that work in production. Not an agency and not a middleman: you work directly with the person who writes the code.

independent since; full time since 2019

The path: from 2003 to today

  • 2003 - built and ran one of Israel's first online communities, with tens of thousands of members, before "social network" was a term.
  • 2006 - started working independently: websites and systems for businesses, alongside roles in companies.
  • 2009 - back-end development and Tech Lead at William Hill Online: online betting at the scale of millions of users, with exchange-grade availability and security.
  • 2011 - Mars Media Group: a digital advertising system serving millions of impressions a day.
  • BuyMe - senior full-stack development at the largest gift platform in Israel.
  • 2019 to today - fully independent: development, consulting and security for businesses, and building verifystring.com, security services for AI systems (agents, chatbots and LLM integrations).

Eight fields, one person

Most projects touch the edges of several fields. When one person knows all of them, there are fewer handoffs and responsibility stays clear:

  • WordPress and WooCommerce - content sites, stores, custom themes and plugins, hardening and repair of broken sites.
  • PHP 8 and Laravel - admin systems, APIs, integrations and refactoring of existing code.
  • AI systems - Python, LLMs, RAG and agents on Claude and GPT, see AI implementation.
  • React, Next.js and Node.js - fast interfaces, headless CMS and web apps in TypeScript; React Native, Swift and Kotlin for apps for iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows.
  • Databases and APIs - MySQL, PostgreSQL, REST and GraphQL.
  • Cloud and DevOps - Docker, AWS, CI/CD, caching and monitoring.
  • Security - penetration tests, clean-up of hacked sites and incident response.
  • Technology consulting - senior technical guidance, architecture, vendor selection and mentoring, see fractional CTO.

The commercial side of all this is on the services page.

How I work

My approach

No account manager, no project manager, no pretend "team". When you hire me, you talk to me directly, I write the code, and I'm there for questions after the project goes live. Transparent about price, timelines and what is and isn't possible.

The rule behind every project: technology is a way to earn money, not a goal. So before any code is written, I work out with you what the business needs to happen, what it's worth and the shortest safe way there. Sometimes the answer is "don't build" - and I say that too.

What I don't do

I don't take a project I can't do well myself, and I don't pass work on without saying so. I don't sell "SEO packages" or promise first place on Google. I don't build a new site when the existing one can be fixed for a tenth of the price, and I don't install a plugin when ten lines of code do the same thing without the risk. If your system needs a specialist in a field outside my expertise, you get their name, not an invoice.

Languages, location, availability

I work in English, Hebrew and Russian - including Russian-language advertising for brands that want to reach Russian speakers worldwide. The office is in Alon Tower 2, 94 Yigal Alon St, Tel Aviv, but most of the work is remote, with clients in Israel, Europe and North America. Israel time is UTC+2 (UTC+3 in summer): my day overlaps fully with Europe and with the first two hours of the New York morning. I reply within 24 hours, and the first 30-minute call is free. The business also operates under the Levievs brand - same person, same responsibility.
